These hydrophone recordings provide further insight into the challenges Southern Resident KELȽOLEMEĆEN face, such as unnatural commercial vessel acoustic pollution, and help us to advocate for their protection. Acoustic pollution affects killer whales’ ability to communicate with their families and forage effectively and efficiently.
