T049A1 leading the pod

On Monday, April 7, 2025 our team got news of a pod of KELŁOLEMEĆEN in Navy Channel while we were conducting pinniped counts on the Belle Chain Islets. We transited through Boat Passage and caught up to the whales and whale watchers at Mouat Point. We obtained identification photos and observed vessel interactions for a short time before continuing on our way. These whales were identified as the T049As (without T049A2). Later that day, we encountered this pod again, with one less whale, T049A1 had gone his own way.

While on the way back to the marina for the evening, we encountered another pod. These whales were without any vessels so we took identification photos and left them on their own.

All photos are taken with a 200-600 zoom lens.
