On April 15, 2025 our team was notified of K pod heading southwest in Boundary Pass in the early morning hours. We hit the water and headed into Haro Strait, anticipating their travel movement. After scanning the waters we located them south of ĆTESU (D’arcy Island). We notified a pleasurecraft vessel of their proximity to an endangered population and monitored their distance as they moved along. We turned our engines off and drifted with the whales as they headed south and then south west into the strait of Juan de Fuca. These whales were in fact K pod, who were followed by J pod later in the afternoon who travelled south into San Juan Channel.

All photos are taken with a 200-600 zoom lens.
